Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale traces its heritage back to 1820 when Alexander Keith first established his Nova Scotia brewery on Lower Water Street in Halifax. The Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery is one of the oldest working breweries in North America. We use a proprietary yeast strain to produce this smooth golden liquid with subtle notes of black licorice.

Warm raisin bread and baking spices surround notes of smoky barley on the nose. The Palate is powerful yet delicate. The silky texture gives way to baking spices and juicy grapes. Rich and balanced, with a hint of peat. The finish is long, very long. The subtle peat amplifies the soft tannins of the extra old cognac casks.

Buttery pastries and brioche develop into aromas of toasted malts and sweet baking spices. The Palate is structured with a full body. Brioche quickly transitions into grassy notes. A slight woodiness balanced perfectly with vanilla and nutmeg. Refined and well-rounded. The finish is sophisticated and subtle. This wine is round, rich and long-lasting on the palate with mature tannins on the finish. It is a well-balanced easy-drinking wine.

On the palate, this wine is complex, rich, long and fat. It displays aromas of crushed black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries) and jam. The tannins are plump and well-integrated. Unlike many Pinot Noirs grown in the Pays d'Oc, this wine is not dominated by heaviness or an excessive over-ripeness.
