Full-bodied and bold, aromatic spices, fruit loaf and candied lemon are followed by a surge of vanilla, honey and caramel. The finish transforms from peppery and hot to deliciously sweet and smooth.

Fresh, floral, herbal and tart aromas. Flavourful with hints of mixed herbs and cedar wood. Very zesty and vibrant with hints of smoked orange and grapefruit. The taste profile reveals a lively, vibrant, sharp texture leading into very firm, distinctive flavours, malty - biscuit, aniseed and cardamon. The finish is long and lingering with firm notes of mint, tar, oak and leather.

On the nose, sweet, scented wood, wisps of pine resin, aniseed toffee, citrus and cayenne pepper. Flavourful with notes of smoked brown sugar, sugar coated walnuts and gentle spices.

Full-flavoured and rich with a deep mouth-coating texture, the taste is an intriguing balance between sweet, spicy and deep smoky flavours. Initially sweet as Christmas cake begins to soak into the tongue. A burst of winter spices sets off a smoky-spicy explosion countered by a sumptuous mid-palate of honey glazed smoked food and chewy treacle.

The 30 year old is a superb blend from Ballantine's. Complex balance of aromas and flavours include: honey, floral, pear, peach and vanilla oakiness.

To the eye a burished chestnut colour. On the nose, notes of Freesia, dried geranium and lilies merge with the aromas of citrus fruits, followed by the sweeter notes of acacia honey, apple pie, vanilla pods and cream. The complex palate iniatially starts dry with floral notes, like carnations then developing into sweeter notes of lemon merigue, grilled almonds and light crème caramel fudge with a hint of pepper, nutmeg, oak and light coconut. The finish is long with subtle floral notes and malty flavours.

Deep copper colour with aromas of heather honey, vanilla, cherries, lychees, floral, hint of eucalyptus, oak spices, liquorice and fresh tobacco leaves with a touch of aniseed and mint. On the palate: malty spice, notes of vanilla fudge, golden syrup, butterscotch, thyme, white pepper, woody notes of dry oak, hazelnut, demerara sugar and maple syrup and dates. The finish is sweet and woody with notes of liquorice sticks deliver a spicy mouth feel and a touch of peat smoke.

Initial notes of lemon peel, poached peaches and vanilla giving way to indulgent tones of treacle, salted toffee, antique oak, roasted chestnuts and soft leather. Rich palate with hints of cocoa beans intermingled with sundried raisins, Muscovado sugar, red berries and an elegant layer of peat smoke. Long and sweet finish with lingering oak spices and sea salt.

Burnished gold colour with aromas of ripe papaya, caramelized mango and molasses. On the palate a bounty of tropical fruits with drizzling honey and warm Islay peat smoke.

Aromas of sherry-soaked raisins, cocoa, orange marmalade, Christmas spices, cherry blossom, maraschino cherries and liquorice. On the palate warm pear, fruitcake, cocoa, and a sprinkling of sea salt.

Bright, gold colour. On the nose, the zest of sun - ripened fruits drizzled by the sea. On the palate, salted honeycomb with zingy spiced cocoa and the tang of blood orange.

With this edition of Black Art, inspiration was taken from the groundwork done in creating the first editions of this series, where there was a relentless pursuit to layer flavour.

Aged 29 years. Orange barley sugars, ginger nut biscuits and lemon meringue pie are followed by sweet apricot jam and marzipan. The toasted oak brings smooth chocolate and vanilla notes. Beautifully complemented with syrupy fruit, raisins, plum and melon. Over time, iodine and a hint of coconut come through, with a delicate oak spices of warming ginger and cinnamon. A velvet texture, the depth and balance of this single malt glides across the palate.

The oak cradles the soft fruit of distillation with a perfect balance and harmony. The delicate sweetness and luscious texture are like velvet on the palate. The balance of those sweet ripe stoned fruit flavours with the vanilla, caramel and brown sugar notes of the oak is perfect, this vintage of Islay barley is bottled at just the right moment to capture the DNA of our island and the whisky we distil on its shores. Add a touch of water and watch as the natural oils react in the glass releasing wonderful floral notes of hawthorn and heather.

The barley harvest for this 2013 vintage was raised on Islay by seven Islay farming partners. This single malt has matured in ex-American and ex-wine casks hailing from the Pessac-Léognan region of France. The first taste is a wondrous thing; all at once, the salinity, the fruit, the light peat smoke, and the sweet oak show their presence in a whirl of complexity to entice you. The aging from carefully selected oak allows a subtle almond note to combine with coconut, caramel, vanilla, and muscovado sugar. The peat smoke in this whisky is as beautifully balanced as ever, weaving through the components, highlighting them but not dominating. A dram that is gentle on the palate yet has a tremendous depth of flavour.

This Islay whisky shows initial aromas of sweet pear drops, vanilla fudge, chocolate and marzipan, on the palate the oak and malt notes overlap each other with toasted rye bread, buttery popcorn, fresh oak, vanilla fudge and smooth caramel. The organic barley seems to give more fruit from the distillation and more viscous texture which is a joy to the olfactory senses.

A complex gin created with white truffles from Piedmont, Italy. Each exquisite botanical is distilled individually to preserve the purity of its essence and tailored into a bold, surprising gin where traditional Juniper perfectly compliments rich, earthy notes that evoke fresh pine. A long, expressive finish and unique, rewarding taste.

Aromas of sweet orange, bramble fruit with chocolate, and nutmeg-spiced sultana. On the palate, a burst of red berry fruit compote and mandarin orange softened by creamy, vanilla-rich milk chocolate. Lingering currant and Morello cherry with barely sugar and traces of ginger on the finish.

Aromas include sherry, Manuka honey, smoke, rich oak, and a little pine resin. Medium-bodied, with notes of date and walnut cake, Oloroso sherry, hints of earthy forest floor, malt, toffee apple and a touch of smoke. Spicy and long, notes of allspice, cinnamon and cloves, with orange zest and sherry.

Gold hay hue. The nose is an intricate range of smoke, minerals and sherry. On the palate, there is butterscotch, more sherry and peat. Smoke continues to stay with you long after the final sip. A whisky of complexity and depth, offering a very long finish. Extraordinary.

Aged in 100% Oloroso sherry casks. Amber colour with gold highlights. Tempting aromas of marmalade, honey, fresh ground coffee, sherry and nuts. Full bodied, moderately sweet, with a touch of tobacco and mint on the palate.

Aromas of caramel and toffee popcorn, with notes of almond, vanilla, citrus and slight hint of peat smoke. Full and creamy on the palate, with sweet notes of barley sugar, candied orange peel, milk chocolate sitting alongside subtle salinity and sweet smoke. Finsih is long with fading caramel sweetness, citrus peel and smoke.

Sloe gin is created by carefully steeping sloe berries over several months in dry gin, it is then blended with natural sugars. It pours a bright ruby red colour; with concentrated aromas of plum, hits of almond and frangipane. Warm on the palate with delicious, fruit flavours - not too sweet or too tart.

Aromas of sandalwood, cranberries, and apples. On the palate walnuts, red berries, butter tarts, Marzipan, cherries, toasted nut, capsicum and a woody texture.

Crafted at and matured at a Glasgow distillery, this lowland single malt's characteristics include: fruity, spice, vanilla, biscuit and a long finish. Maturation has occurred in a combination of Oloroso Sherry casks and Kentucky Bourbon casks.

Sanaig, named after an inlet on Islay’s rugged Atlantic cost, is a vatting of Kilchoman matured in both sherry and bourbon barrels.
