Hailing from Southwest France, Malbec did not receive international recognition and fame until it arrived in the mountain vineyards of Argentina.  Join us as we explore Malbec, from its humble beginnings in Cahors, France, to the superstar of Argentina’s wine regions.

Food suggestions

  • A cheese and meat platter with smoked meats and sausage, and semi-soft cheese, such as Asiago and gouda.  Add a bit of dried fruit and chocolate if you feel adventurous. 
  • Grilled steak bites, or a skewer with beef and mushrooms.   
  • Pizza with mushrooms and sausage
  • Any grilled meat like beef, lamb, or even portabella mushrooms.

A class may be cancelled if a minimum of 10 is not met. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone courses. Participants will be notified and fully reimbursed or issued a credit. A refund is available for up to five days before class(es) begin. There are no refunds or exchanges for missed classes.

Kathy Boultbee

Kathy began her career in beverage alcohol as a Product Consultant in Brandon, Manitoba, where she conducted a variety of education seminars for both the public and for the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries staff.  After attaining the position of Product Ambassador, she moved to Winnipeg and has continued to further develop product knowledge seminars and training opportunities.  She has a passion for learning and has attained her Certified Specialist in Wine, WSET Level 3, and is a certified Sommelier.
