This Speyside single malt was distilled at the now closed Convalmore distillery in Dufftown. Filled to refill American oak hogsheads in 1984 and aged for 32 years, only 3,972 bottles have been produced at a natural cask strength of 48.2% abv.The nose is mellow and sweet, with pastry, nutmeg and almond oil, all atop fruity notes and brown sugar sweetness. The palate is smooth and fruity with a trace of crisp acidity and oak spice balancing the sweetness. Apples and pastry persist with caramelised fruits. The finish is warming and spicy with liquorice fading to stewed fruits and lingering oak notes.
