Derek May
Derek May was born and raised in Winnipeg. It was there that he began his culinary career. After completing his Hotel and Restaurant Administration Diploma in 1984 he proceeded to obtain his Red Seal Designation in 1987. Derek then moved to Lake Louise where he continued his career in the kitchen. Over the next 30+ years he worked in the Rocky Mountains at several well-known resorts as an executive chef. His Culinary highlight during that time was working with the Canadian Olympic culinary team at the Chateau Lake Louise’s 100th anniversary gala event.
Assiniboine Park Conservancy
The Foodie series incorporates delectable food samplings prepared by local Chefs sprinkled with historical, cultural and horticultural tidbits from Assiniboine Park teachers.
All of this is topped off with expert pairings from the Manitoba Liquor Marts which is sure to make for one very tasty evening. Participants must be 18 years or older to attend - proof of age may be requested.

Flatlander's Beer Festival Presented by Manitoba Liquor Marts
Manitoba Liquor Marts is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 2013 Flatlander's Beer Festival!
Public Beer Tastings will occur on Thursday, September 5th and Friday, September 6th, 2013. Each tasting event will be hosted on the 2nd floor of the Winnipeg Convention Centre from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Cindy Rousseau
Cindy has been an employee of the MLCC since 2004. As a Product Consultant in Brandon since 2008, Cindy was responsible for specialty listings of wines, spirits and beer. She has also helped facilitate a variety of seminars for the Brandon Wine Society, chef’s sessions, and internal staff training. Cindy’s enthusiasm for all things food and wine has led her to the position of Product Ambassador, responsible for product assortment and education for staff and the public.
