Forty Creek Confederation Oak is the colour of old gold and is a very full bodied whisky. To the nose it is a big whisky with constantly evolving aromas and flavours. Beginning with a maple-raisin-vanilla-fig, layers of praline, banana, butter cream, honeyed nuts, marzipan, spice and orange blossoms. As it lingers, dark dried fruits and anise evolve. On the palate it has a very rich entry; soft, round and dry. Full bodied with vanilla, butter cream and pepper spice which is nicely framed with oak, walnut and smoke. An exceptional finish that has great depth. A long lingering finish with fading spice and white pepper. Excellent balance and vibrant flavour. A whisky to sip and cherish.

This whisky is aged for 18 years in barrel, including 10 months in Brandy Casks. Very aromatic with notes of caramel, blueberry compote, raisins, dates and figs. This Limited Edition Imperial Black Lager could also be considered a fruited, heavy twist on the German Dunkelweizen, a style that dates back to the 16th century when Bavarian brewers began using darker wheat malts in their beers. A slight hop bitterness balances a vinous complexity otherwise not traditionally found in this style. There is no burnt flavour despite the use of dark malts, and behind the initial sweetness and full, smooth body you will find red wine character, with notes of tart plum, stone fruit, tobacco, vanilla & toffee lingering on a somewhat dry finish.

We start with corn grains and after multiple distillations we put the liquid into charred used bourbon barrels.
