This wine has a light straw colour in the glass with moderate viscosity. The nose shows notes of mango, peaches in syrup and pineapple. The palate is medium sweet but not cloying with flavours of ripe pear, golden delicious apple, peach and pineapple.

On the nose, a complex of aromas including anise, cut grass, white flowers and lime citrus mingle seamlessly. Dry and full bodied, the palate is very intense and well extracted, with great tension between acidity and richness on the attack and in the middle. Crisp yellow plum, Granny Smith apple and green melon flavours are present throughout, and carry on to the finish alongside mouth-watering acidity and crushed-stone minerality.

The key to the intense flavours and spicy aromas in this wine are the mature grapes and modern technology which allows for strict temperature control during fermentation: its gentle agitation of the wine extracts more colour and tannin from the skins, and the partial pressure this vessel is under during the time of fermentation allows higher concentration of fruit flavours to remain in the wine. Finally, this wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in the barrel room, which stabilizes its red colour and enhances its firm tannic finish. This Cabernet Franc is best served with pasta or red sauce, barbecued foods, roast beef or lamb.

You will find very ripe, plummy-sweet flavours and richness in this wine. Some would also call it a bistro style, "elbows-on-the-table" wine. Great with stews, red meat or tomato-based dishes.

A deep amber bronze coloured whisky. At first swirl of the glass, look for top notes of toffee, spice and grain with a touch of maple sap and sweet smoke. After adding a touch of water, added notes of orange peel, ginger, almond, cinnamon, star anise, vanilla, and tree fruit develop. The mouth-feel is smooth, rich and full, with deep notes of baked cherry, raisin, dried spice, nut and licorice root.
