Colour Burnished gold Nose At bottle strength the influence of the two styles of maturation casks complement each other producing a full-bodied smooth aroma. The maturity that shows through comes from the America barrels and the spicy creamy nose from the old style smaller casks. A touch of water allows the full complexity of the Highland Peated Malt to appear. The rich softness linked with smooth, slightly dry aroma is combined with just enough earthy peat smoke to avoid being overpowering. Palate At bottle strength the full rich flavours burst and fill the mouth with a creamy peat tang and a touch of vanilla’s soft gentleness. If a touch of water is added then the flavours increase with the addition of a sweet ripe fruit start followed by the tang of peat.

Wonderful cedar wood and rich treacle toffee.

On the palate there is a noticeable delicacy and softness in texture and style. The balance of flavour is superb as the smoke wraps loosely around the sweetness drawn from deep within the oak, Coconut, vanilla custard, lemon honey combines with smoked oysters and sun baked salty sand. The finish is smoky but also the soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley, orange, mango and Banoffee pie hinting of the depth and quality of the oak. The many layers interchange on each sip.

The whisky used in this blend gives an immediately succulent flavour. Soft, floral, and silky vanilla tones, along with a creamy peach flavour, leave a light sweetness in the mouth. Fresh blackcurrant and exotic, juicy mango notes give way to a gentle smokiness that slowly begins to emerge and create a full and indulgent experience. Nutmeg and gingerbread give a warm, animated character before relaxing and making way for the smokiness. All these rich, exotic flavours combine to create the hallmark of Johnnie Walker blends in one sensationally long, lingering gold finish.

One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature sherry and creamy vanilla. Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.

A rich, dried fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong, barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. At the back of the mouth is an explosion of peppery smoke.

A sparkling gold with layers of colour. Peat first, then ripe red fruits with a hint of dryness. Full bodied with sweet up front then classic dry, peaty, ashy flavours followed by a rich finish. Long lingering and florally with marzipan and limes at the end.

Quite dense and smoky on the nose, with smoked fish, bladderwrack, sweet fruit and peat. Full-bodied and peaty in the mouth, with ginger, ozone, dark chocolate, black pepper and a kick of chilli in the very long, smoky finish.
