This wine has an intense purple red color. On the nose, there are notes of red fruits such as plums and blackberries with more freshness than in other years, and the aromas are balanced with notes of coffee and vanilla from the wood. The palate is voluminous, fruity with hints of violet and elegant tannins. There are soft oak notes and a long finish.

Aging in both bourbon and sherry casks is responsible for the complex flavour profile. Aromas include: chocolate, delicate spice and dried fruits. The palate is balanced and sold with hints of caramel and wood.

Palate: As the crisp Muscovado and Demerara sugars create layered nuances, the smokiness of the Single Malt sets in, creating a perfect balance. Paul John XO is made from the famed Ugni Blanc and the rich Bangalore purple grape. The brandy is matured in specially selected, medium toasted new French limousine oak barrels. With gentle honey aromas, orange zest and a touch of herbs that enhance the tender raisin and sweet oak flavours, the exotic Paul John XO is matured and distilled in Goa.

This release's blend is comprised of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of blueberry, cassis, lavender, vanilla and mahogany. It’s full-bodied with firm, chalky tannins and a concentrated core of spiced dark fruit.

Matusalem makes triple-distilled, hand-crafted, blended spirits. During the Solera method, young and older rums are blended many times in French oak barrels.
