This wine goes well with ham, mild cheeses, casseroles which are not highly spiced, bean and pulse dishes, poultry, red meat, grills and roasts. Best served at between 16º and 18ºC.

El Buen Alfarero translates as "the good potter", this artisanal wine is unique and no two bottle are exactly alike as they are dressed by hand. This blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Albillo has been aged for 7 months in earthenware jars called "tinajas", just as it would have been over 100 years ago. First fruits of Alvaro Palacios' labours to restore Rioja Baja's traditional Garnachas to glory. Bush vines, grown at 615m, at the limit of ripening. Shallow red clay soil over calcium carbonate. Álvaro Palacios Quiñon de Valmira 2015 is a pale garnet colour with gloriously floral aromas. Equally seductive palate superbly ripe with a lift of orange peel and grain of dark chocolate. Very refined; Pinot-like. A great beginning; a vineyard to watch.
