Amarula is a premium cream liqueur based on the spirit derived from the fruit of the South African Marula tree and the finest dairy cream. The colour is coppery amber and the nose offers heady spice aromas of nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla, rounded out with caramel and citrus notes. On the palate the taste is warm and buttery with butterscotch notes and has a long, smooth cognac finish.

On the palate, this wine is complex, rich, long and fat. It displays aromas of crushed black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries) and jam. The tannins are plump and well-integrated. Naturally aged for at least four and a half years in the cellars of France's Château de Cognac, where some of the world's finest Cognacs have been made for over 200 years. This emerges as a bold, full-bodied blend that is uniquely powerful and has a pleasantly smooth and balanced finish.

This cuvée made with about 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc is a blend of different lots reflecting the diversity of all local terroirs: the clay bringing the body, the gravel giving the structure and the chalk ensuring the finesse. Harvest occurs early in the morning and the fruit is then immediately pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel cuves.
