This Cabernet Franc has been matured in French oak for 16 months. On the nose raspberry, plum and white pepper. Flavours of red plum, cherry and a touch of herbs.

A vivid red color. The aroma is intense, exuberant and very floral and reminiscent of the scented Rockrose surrounded by fruits of the forest such as cassis; mint and some refined, elegant, well-integrated woody notes. Fresh on the palate, with a hint of cherry. Soft and velvety, presents smooth tannins, and is very well balanced against acidity, giving the wine complexity and longevity. The after-taste is long and well-flavored.

Portal's 10 Year Old Tawny is a blend of wines aged in old casks where they acquire the amber colour and turn the young rich fruit into elegance. A brown/chestnut in appearance, initial deep scents of brown sugar and toffee; then candied walnut, toasted marshmallow, treacle and dark, old honey. Creamy in texture, with highlights of burnt sugar and cocoa, earthy, grassy and lean, with pocket flavours of treacle and marzipan.

Intense, deep colour. The predominant flavours are ripe, black fruits. Sweet notes of vanilla and hints of mocha. Excellent balance of tannins and acidity with a long, smooth finish.

Opaque, purple black colour with a narrow violet rim. Characteristically stylish and racy, with a nose of dense blackcurrant and woodland fruit overlaid with discreet herbal nuances and scents of violet and rose petals. As usual the classic Taylor elegance and understatement conceal the wine’s energy and vigour. On the palate it displays the lean, sinewy and tightly knit tannins which are so much a feature of the Taylor style and the vibrant and clearly delineated fruit flavours and which are the hallmark of the 2007 vintage.

Pale brick colour with broad amber rim. Mellow nose of succulent ripe berry fruit with aromas of butterscotch, figs and prunes interwoven with attractive nutty and spicy aromas. Smooth and round on the palate, full of rich strawberry jam flavours.

Inky black with purple rim. A nose of great purity opening on a vigourous note of concentrated black woodland fruit laced with raspberry and plum. Around this dense fruity core, with its attractive vibrancy and minerality, is a fragrant and complex aura of citrus fruit blossom and wild herbal scents of mint and lavender. Supported by a tight warp of thick sinewy tannins, the palate explodes with concentrated ripe black fruit flavour which surges into the long finish before being gripped in a tight tannic embrace. A wine which manages to combine the massive structure and powerful fruitiness of the harvest with elegance, poise and finesse.
