Warm raisin bread and baking spices surround notes of smoky barley on the nose. The Palate is powerful yet delicate. The silky texture gives way to baking spices and juicy grapes. Rich and balanced, with a hint of peat. The finish is long, very long. The subtle peat amplifies the soft tannins of the extra old cognac casks.

Buttery pastries and brioche develop into aromas of toasted malts and sweet baking spices. The Palate is structured with a full body. Brioche quickly transitions into grassy notes. A slight woodiness balanced perfectly with vanilla and nutmeg. Refined and well-rounded. The finish is sophisticated and subtle. The soft spices and nutty malts balance beautifully leading to slightly sweet notes from the extra old cognac casks.

Heavy, thickly oaked and complex with smoke on the nose turns into warming, full blown peat and then followed by a sherry trifle note. The flavours develop into a really intense chocolate fudge that resonates through the palate.

Light and zesty with a hint of spice, warming up to what can only be described as 'stick to your teeth' toffee. A long and lingering finish leaving you ready for the next sip.

Full-bodied and bold, aromatic spices, fruit loaf and candied lemon are followed by a surge of vanilla, honey and caramel. The finish transforms from peppery and hot to deliciously sweet and smooth.

Fresh, floral, herbal and tart aromas. Flavourful with hints of mixed herbs and cedar wood. Very zesty and vibrant with hints of smoked orange and grapefruit. The taste profile reveals a lively, vibrant, sharp texture leading into very firm, distinctive flavours, malty - biscuit, aniseed and cardamon. The finish is long and lingering with firm notes of mint, tar, oak and leather.

On the nose, sweet, scented wood, wisps of pine resin, aniseed toffee, citrus and cayenne pepper. Flavourful with notes of smoked brown sugar, sugar coated walnuts and gentle spices.

Full-flavoured and rich with a deep mouth-coating texture, the taste is an intriguing balance between sweet, spicy and deep smoky flavours. Initially sweet as Christmas cake begins to soak into the tongue. A burst of winter spices sets off a smoky-spicy explosion countered by a sumptuous mid-palate of honey glazed smoked food and chewy treacle.

The 30 year old is a superb blend from Ballantine's. Complex balance of aromas and flavours include: honey, floral, pear, peach and vanilla oakiness.

The colour is a rich scarlet-red, with opulent aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of caramel. The palate comes alive with flavours of ripe raspberries, strawberry jam, a dense blackberry core, warm gingerbread, and a hint of toffee. It is perfectly balanced with refreshing acidity, plush weight on the mid-palate and a wonderfully supple texture. The expansive fruit flavours carry through to a long, pure and persistent finish. When asked to describe this wine, I simply say it’s like a taste of Christmas, all year long.

Hints of custard cream, spice and zesty lime nose; while the palate is creamy with balanced fruits.

Aromas of currants, dried roses, fresh tilled soil and hints of smoked meat. Flavourful wine with notes of blueberries and blackberries with the warmth of vanilla and toasted bread. Full-bodied with smooth, silky tannins and a long, mouth-watering finish.

Bottega Gold is a sparkling Prosecco; the Glera grapes grown in the hilly area of the province of Treviso. Bright, straw yellow, fine and persistent perlage. Bouquet is very comples with green apples, pear, citrus fruits, white flowers, acacia, wisteria, lily of the valley and spices. The taste is light with livelinees and balanced acidity.

Deep copper colour with aromas of heather honey, vanilla, cherries, lychees, floral, hint of eucalyptus, oak spices, liquorice and fresh tobacco leaves with a touch of aniseed and mint. On the palate: malty spice, notes of vanilla fudge, golden syrup, butterscotch, thyme, white pepper, woody notes of dry oak, hazelnut, demerara sugar and maple syrup and dates. The finish is sweet and woody with notes of liquorice sticks deliver a spicy mouth feel and a touch of peat smoke.

Initial notes of lemon peel, poached peaches and vanilla giving way to indulgent tones of treacle, salted toffee, antique oak, roasted chestnuts and soft leather. Rich palate with hints of cocoa beans intermingled with sundried raisins, Muscovado sugar, red berries and an elegant layer of peat smoke. Long and sweet finish with lingering oak spices and sea salt.

Bright, gold colour. On the nose, the zest of sun - ripened fruits drizzled by the sea. On the palate, salted honeycomb with zingy spiced cocoa and the tang of blood orange.

With this edition of Black Art, inspiration was taken from the groundwork done in creating the first editions of this series, where there was a relentless pursuit to layer flavour.

The oak cradles the soft fruit of distillation with a perfect balance and harmony. The delicate sweetness and luscious texture are like velvet on the palate. The balance of those sweet ripe stoned fruit flavours with the vanilla, caramel and brown sugar notes of the oak is perfect, this vintage of Islay barley is bottled at just the right moment to capture the DNA of our island and the whisky we distil on its shores. Add a touch of water and watch as the natural oils react in the glass releasing wonderful floral notes of hawthorn and heather.

The barley harvest for this 2013 vintage was raised on Islay by seven Islay farming partners. This single malt has matured in ex-American and ex-wine casks hailing from the Pessac-Léognan region of France. The first taste is a wondrous thing; all at once, the salinity, the fruit, the light peat smoke, and the sweet oak show their presence in a whirl of complexity to entice you. The aging from carefully selected oak allows a subtle almond note to combine with coconut, caramel, vanilla, and muscovado sugar. The peat smoke in this whisky is as beautifully balanced as ever, weaving through the components, highlighting them but not dominating. A dram that is gentle on the palate yet has a tremendous depth of flavour.

This Islay whisky shows initial aromas of sweet pear drops, vanilla fudge, chocolate and marzipan, on the palate the oak and malt notes overlap each other with toasted rye bread, buttery popcorn, fresh oak, vanilla fudge and smooth caramel. The organic barley seems to give more fruit from the distillation and more viscous texture which is a joy to the olfactory senses.

A complex gin created with white truffles from Piedmont, Italy. Caymus has a signature style that is dark in colour, with rich fruit and ripe, velvety tannins as approachable in youth as in maturity. We farm Cabernet grapes in eight of Napa’s 16 sub-appellations, with diversification enabling us to make the best possible wine in a given year. Our Cabernet offers layered, lush aromas and flavours, including cocoa, cassis and ripe dark berries.

These vintage features both richness and freshness coming together in an intriguing way. Fruit is luscious and the integrated wood compliments rather than defines the wine. Aroma of cassis and blackberries. The palate starts off sleek then expands with luxurious tannins. Fruit driven wine with an overlay of French oak in the finish.

Deep, dark colour with rich fruit and ripe, velvety tannins. Layered and lush aroma and flavours including cocoa, cassis and ripe, dark berries.

This vintage is deep garnet colour with a red-tawny edge. Characteristically and aromatically flamboyant Caymus style - nose of French oak barrel and cassis-like tones of ripeness, saddle leather and espresso. This wine's palate is full, rich with abundant soft tannins and a hint of rustic grittiness. Youthful energy and eminently enjoyable for current drinking, yet age worthy to gain additional complexity over next half- decade.

Suisun (su-soon) Valley is known for delicious stone fruits and walnuts; increasingly it is also gaining recognition for its wine. Durif is synonymous with Petite Sirah, the widely grown grape in the region. We added Grand to the name of our Suisun-grown Durif because it has a grand style. The 2016 vintage shows aromas of dark plums,  baked blueberries, scents of lavender, white rose petals, sweet smoke and brown spice.  On the palate, lush tannins in balance with dark berry cobbler and cocoa.

Vibrant velvety purple with initial scents of supple leather and earthy wood, and additional aromatic layers of ripe blackberries, rose petals and a hint of clove. Flavours of berry cobbler mingle with leather, a wisp of campfire, flowers in bloom and chocolate covered raisins. Delicate luxury.

Golden colour. Double distilled, aged in small oak casks, this Calvados offers an harmonious nose mixing baked apples, almond and spice hints. The mouth is supple, soft and well developed. Fruity at first, it evolves towards vanilla and woodier notes.

Comte de Grasse has created an entirely new style of vodka-rosé using an 'innovative' flavour extraction technique. A new process, called active wine extraction (AWX), combines the flavours of rosé wine with vodka. The nose is all elegant and concentrated freshness with light wafts of strawberries. The palate is a discovery of delicate floral notes with white peaches and a soft fruity finish. Natural flavour extraction with no additives or artificial flavours.

This deep amber elixir entices with a fine decadent truffle aroma followed with a bouquet of opulent summer blossoms. This rich, full-bodied cognac is accentuated with toasted hazelnuts, subtle honey and cinnamon notes that linger with a long, powerful finish fit for the table and salons of Kings and Queens.

The Selección de Familia has been aged in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. First creamy, then juicy plum set against a backdrop of coconut. Cooked oak spice and brandy ripple across the palate, chased down by rounded pepper and bold toffee sweetness. Smooth, with thick notes of demerara sugar. Well-rounded, long finish with a hint of pipe tobacco on the tail.

The Gunpowder Orange Citrus gin shows exotic layers of fresh citrus, oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea. Subtle hints of Moro orange citrus from California adds complexity and depth to this gin.

A flavourful gin distilled with oriental botanicals, gunpowder tea, and a hint of Sardinian citrus. Slow distilled by hand, the botanicals and gunpowder tea give this gin a uniquely fragrant note. Orange and grapefruit tones dominate; delightfully fresh and rounded up front with refreshing notes of juniper and spice, followed by a burst of Sardinian Citrus in the finish.

Rich and extravagant aromas, yet balanced by warm spice, vanilla and dried fruit. A glorious marriage of spice, fig, oloroso sherry and toasted oak notes. Elegant finish with a wonderful, creamy mouthfeel.

Baking spices, namely cinnamon, accompanied by bitter dark chocolate, exotic fruit sweetness, raisins and a hint of dark liquorice and orange peel on the finish.

Aromas of sweet orange, bramble fruit with chocolate, and nutmeg-spiced sultana. On the palate, a burst of red berry fruit compote and mandarin orange softened by creamy, vanilla-rich milk chocolate. Lingering currant and Morello cherry with barely sugar and traces of ginger on the finish.

Aromas include sherry, Manuka honey, smoke, rich oak, and a little pine resin. Medium-bodied, with notes of date and walnut cake, Oloroso sherry, hints of earthy forest floor, malt, toffee apple and a touch of smoke. Spicy and long, notes of allspice, cinnamon and cloves, with orange zest and sherry.

Gold hay hue. The nose is an intricate range of smoke, minerals and sherry. On the palate, there is butterscotch, more sherry and peat. Smoke continues to stay with you long after the final sip. A whisky of complexity and depth, offering a very long finish. Extraordinary.

Aged in 100% Oloroso sherry casks. Amber colour with gold highlights. Tempting aromas of marmalade, honey, fresh ground coffee, sherry and nuts. Full bodied, moderately sweet, with a touch of tobacco and mint on the palate.

Aromas of caramel and toffee popcorn, with notes of almond, vanilla, citrus and slight hint of peat smoke. Full and creamy on the palate, with sweet notes of barley sugar, candied orange peel, milk chocolate sitting alongside subtle salinity and sweet smoke. Finsih is long with fading caramel sweetness, citrus peel and smoke.

This Cuban rum blends smoky oak and spice. It is smooth on the palate, pleasant and aromatic, offering an exotic journey through a world of taste. Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is distinguished by a warm amber hue and a deep red glow. On the nose, toasted pecan and spice showcase the wood ageing. On the palate, a round mouth feel leads to a complex, flavorful, full-bodied palate of cocoa, coffee, sweet tobacco and brown spices. A pleasant smoky oak and spice finish combined with candied fruits give the rum tasting experience a remarkable balance.

Aromas of sandalwood, cranberries, and apples. On the palate walnuts, red berries, butter tarts, Marzipan, cherries, toasted nut, capsicum and a woody texture.

In a blend of mature eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne, Antique sets out to be different. A perpetual conversation between the fruit and oak reveals notes of hazelnut, ripe quince and mild spices, appearing amid accents of fig tart and blonde tobacco. Mischievous complexity comes into being, along with sleek vivacity.

Aged in special barrels which expose the whiskey to a greater percent of oak surface. Rich tasting with notes of caramel, oak and spice.

A blend of Bonded American Malt, Rye and Tennessee Whiskies. Notes of honey, malt and soft oak, leading to a long lasting and well - rounded finish.

Crafted at and matured at a Glasgow distillery, this lowland single malt's characteristics include: fruity, spice, vanilla, biscuit and a long finish. Maturation has occurred in a combination of Oloroso Sherry casks and Kentucky Bourbon casks.

Pale Gold colour leads way to aromas of fresh tropical fruitiness, vanilla, coconut and spices. The palate is softwith a well-balanced natural sweetness, vanilla and oak spices.

Matured in top quality edition Oloroso sherry casks, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry is bottled at the distillery, without any colouring or chill-filtration. It is a naturally smooth and rich whisky with a complex character. Clean and complex with multiple layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices, it has some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well. Vinho is fully matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and re-charred in a way that brings out fruity vanilla notes from the wood into the whisky overlaid on a delicate background of complex fruitiness. It has a complex and multi-dimensional background of pepper, spice, dates and other fruits, such as ripe melon and mango together with kiwi and a delicate blend of bursting citrus fruits. A rich fusion of vanilla and caramelized sugars with dark chocolate on top. Pepper is also present in the background waiting to be noticed. This bouquet is simply a sensational feast to your olfactory organ.

Sanaig, named after an inlet on Islay’s rugged Atlantic cost, is a vatting of Kilchoman matured in both sherry and bourbon barrels. This sherry cask Scotch whisky is matured in a high proportion of oloroso barrels, imparting a balance of dried fruits, dark chocolate and rich peat smoke into the spirit.

This whisky is distilled from premium rice and is aged in white oak virgin casks. Aromas of sweet butter, caramel and spice lead way to flavours of sweet butter, toasted wood, licorice, clove and cinnamon with a long finish.

La Gritona Reposado has rested for 8 months in oak. the taste is herbaceous, with agave notes, and the finish is round with no burn.

Full - bodied and utterly unforgettable 10 Year Old Cask Strength Laphroaig Whisky. This Islay Single Malt is non chill filtered and bottled at natural cask strength.

This is a blend of aged spirits, which have been finished in Cognac casks. Chocolate and fruit aromas and flavours.

This Chianti Rufina boasts a ruby red colour; and is luminous and brilliant. The nose opens with very ripe fruits which include cherry, strawberry and raspberry;  followed by sweet scents of cotton candy, wild rose and notes of walnut and walnut husks. Spicy notes follow such as cloves, star anise; the finish is minerally. The palate is persistent and fresh, very smooth.

Mermaid Small Batch Gin is a smooth refreshing, complex contemporary style, with fresh citrus, sweet spice and gentle juniper on the nose. The taste has citrus zing, combined with peppery spice and an earthy sweetness which is complimented by a hint of sea air. A long layered & complex finish.
