This deep amber whisky offers aromas of stewed plums with balsamic glaze, red berries and cooked nectarines, sweet and oily. A hint of maraschino cherry liqueur, rich toffee and caramel, rose petals, cinnamon and a hint of scented wood and tannic rioja. On the palate: Corinth raisins, prunes, caramelised figs, sweet Muscat grapes, rich dark chocolate with Seville oranges flavoured butterscotch and sweet sherry character. The finish is long lasting, sweet and intense with fragrant orange notes, chestnuts and sultanas.

This 21 year old single malt is triple distilled and aged in second fill sherry casks. To the nose: ripe gooseberry, citrus peel, sweet vanilla, oak and fresh cut barley notes. Light chocolate, soft green fruit, dried citrus peel and a twist of old oak and honey greet the palate. Beautifully balanced whisky.

To the eye a burished chestnut colour. On the nose, notes of Freesia, dried geranium and lilies merge with the aromas of citrus fruits, followed by the sweeter notes of acacia honey, apple pie, vanilla pods and cream. The complex palate iniatially starts dry with floral notes, like carnations then developing into sweeter notes of lemon merigue, grilled almonds and light crème caramel fudge with a hint of pepper, nutmeg, oak and light coconut. The finish is long with subtle floral notes and malty flavours.

Initial notes of lemon peel, poached peaches and vanilla giving way to indulgent tones of treacle, salted toffee, antique oak, roasted chestnuts and soft leather. Mezcal BRIJ3 was born through an effort to embrace the customs and traditions of Oaxaca, and the artisans of San Martín Tilcajete, known as "the place where the Alebrijes are born."Each bottle is hand painted by the regional artists of San Martín Tilcajete, with their own designs and colours, making each bottle unique to itself. Aromas of freshly cut grass, chlorophyll, citrus fruits such as lemon and lime, as well as smoked and toasted notes. On the palate it is youthful and strong with balanced acidity, offering a long finish with a pleasant balance of smoke and a fresh lingering herbaceous quality.

With this edition of Black Art, inspiration was taken from the groundwork done in creating the first editions of this series, where there was a relentless pursuit to layer flavour.

Aged 29 years. Orange barley sugars, ginger nut biscuits and lemon meringue pie are followed by sweet apricot jam and marzipan. The toasted oak brings smooth chocolate and vanilla notes. Beautifully complemented with syrupy fruit, raisins, plum and melon. Over time, iodine and a hint of coconut come through, with a delicate oak spices of warming ginger and cinnamon. Add a touch of water and watch as the natural oils react in the glass releasing wonderful floral notes of hawthorn and heather.

This single malt is malted to a stratospheric 137.3 PPM and matured in the highest quality American oak casks. Initial aromas of sweet nutty smoke, barley sugar and ripe fruit lead way to syrupy apricot, ripe peat, malty vanilla, crème brulee, honey, tablet, coconut, almonds and charred oak. On the palate, dense smoked granola and honeyed lead to smoked apricot jam, barley four, peat embers, burnt heather, gooseberry citrus and sweet Turkish delight. Oak chips, sugared almonds and chocolate limes come toward the finish.

Bright citrus, smoke and a distinct minerality come through on the palate, followed by charred oak and beach bonfire embers. Toffee and creamy vanilla are balanced with the earthy smoke, with bright notes of pear, gooseberry fool and green apple simultaneously adding brightness and depth. Roasted coffee, hints of clove and nutmeg begin to come to the fore, with a gentle hint of heather honey.

The barley harvest for this 2013 vintage was raised on Islay by seven Islay farming partners. This single malt has matured in ex-American and ex-wine casks hailing from the Pessac-Léognan region of France. The first taste is a wondrous thing; all at once, the salinity, the fruit, the light peat smoke, and the sweet oak show their presence in a whirl of complexity to entice you. The aging from carefully selected oak allows a subtle almond note to combine with coconut, caramel, vanilla, and muscovado sugar. The peat smoke in this whisky is as beautifully balanced as ever, weaving through the components, highlighting them but not dominating. A dram that is gentle on the palate yet has a tremendous depth of flavour.

A silky palate with juicy layers of plum, tayberry and chocolate-covered blueberries are framed by elegantly structured tannins, with notes of red licorice, mint, maple and sage adding complexity to a long, dynamic finish.

Baking spices, namely cinnamon, accompanied by bitter dark chocolate, exotic fruit sweetness, raisins and a hint of dark liquorice and orange peel on the finish.

A hint of fruit as the nose opens conjures an image of the apple orchard, soon joined by light touches of almond and vanilla, before lush meadow-grass aromas develop the floral theme. Smooth and pleasing in texture, the opulent and rounded taste starts lightly sweet and becomes elegantly drying, with a vibrant oaky spiciness that persists in the dry finish.

On the nose you'll find a pleasant molasses aroma coupled with some fruit-think ripe cherries and apples. Some oak notes are also found, but in more of a supporting role. The rum is rather elegant on the palate and is neither drying or oily. It's modestly sweet and has a nice tang to it which helps to balance the flavours. The finish also shows more influence of the oak offering up a bittersweet finish.
